Endurance Training Progress Week 2

Well Danny and I are in the second week of our 8 week goal of being able to run for a full 30 minutes non-stop. The plan can be found here and seem to be a pretty good idea. We started last week with 1 minute of running and 2 minutes of walking alternated 10 times. Yesterday we stepped up to 2 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking. It just keeps going up form there e.g., tomorrow its 3 min of running and 1 minute of walking 7 times then 2 more minutes so that the total workout time stays at 30 minutes.

The program seems to be going well and the only probem was when we ran on the road. My form was bad causing high impact on my lower legs. I wasn't able to finish the running on that day so I just continued walking. My shins are a bit better and my form has improved so things a looking up. As long as we keep running on soft surfaces I think we'll be doing just fine.

Following our plan.

After looking at one another and deciding we didn't feel like running tonight, we decided to go anyway. Its funny, the hardest thing doesn't seem to be the actual exercise, it's just the commitment to do it everyday. We are on a running regiment that seems to be working in raising my endurance and definitely getting us to do more cardio. It feels great after about a third of the way in and i feel great the rest of the night, so i think ill stick to it.
In a few weeks we hope to be up to 30 min of solid running (I'm crossing my fingers), it should give us a solid base for the rest of our training. We are really hoping to push through the difficult beginning of the training and get into a solid regiment, so we can do the things we are really looking forward to.

Thanks for reading my post,
I hope to be posting again soon.
Danny.
